Leather Care & Restoration
Good Leather Deserves Good Care.
Leather is meant to be used.
Boots get dusty. Bags get scratched. Belts dry out. Years of work, weather, and everyday life leave their mark.
At Bison & Blade, the goal isn’t to erase that history—it’s to clean, condition, protect, and restore quality leather so it can keep doing its job.
Old-fashioned in soul. Modern in execution.
Boot Clean & Condition
$40 per pair
Routine maintenance for boots that need some attention but aren’t ready for restoration.
Includes:
Surface cleaning
Leather conditioning
Light welt and sole-edge cleaning
Finish appropriate for the leather
Final hand buff
Best for: boots in good overall condition that simply need regular care.
Boot Revival
$75 per pair
Our signature leather-care service.
Designed for boots showing noticeable dryness, buildup, wear, or neglect.
Includes:
Thorough cleaning of the leather uppers
Welt and visible sole-edge cleaning
Hardware cleaning
Deep conditioning
Color-appropriate polish or finish
Protective treatment
Final hand buff and inspection
Whenever possible, I let proper cleaning and conditioning do the heavy lifting rather than unnecessarily altering the leather.
Boot Upper Restoration
Starting at $125
For heavily neglected, faded, dried, stained, or distressed leather requiring more than routine maintenance.
Depending on condition, restoration may include:
Multiple cleaning stages
Deep conditioning treatments
Targeted finish work
Limited color restoration
Additional preservation treatments
Every restoration is assessed individually before work begins.
Structural shoe repair, resoling, heel replacement, and major cobbler work are not currently offered.
More Than Boots
I also care for select practical leather goods, including:
Belts
Bags and briefcases
Wallets
Leather cases
Sheaths
EDC accessories
Sentimental and heirloom leather pieces
Because leather type, construction, size, and condition vary so much, these projects are quoted individually after assessment.
Send me a few clear photos and I’ll tell you honestly what I believe the item needs.
Heirloom & Sentimental Leather
Some leather goods carry more than everyday wear.
A family briefcase. Grandpa’s belt. A well-traveled bag. Something that has been around long enough to become part of the family story.
These pieces are approached with preservation in mind.
The goal is not necessarily to make an old item look new.
The goal is to: stabilize it, restore it to its useful condition, preserve its character, and help it continue its story.
What Can Be Restored?
Not every piece of leather can—or should—be treated the same way.
Previous coatings, severe cracking, water damage, leather type, construction, and age all affect what is safely possible.
Before beginning significant restoration work, I’ll give you an honest assessment of:
What I believe can be improved
What should remain untouched
What risks may exist
What outcome is realistically achievable
No false promises. No unnecessary treatments.
Quick Clean & Shine Events
Bison & Blade also offers occasional Quick Clean & Shine services at markets, trade shows, partner businesses, and community events.
Event Quick Clean & Shine — $25 per pair
A fast, approachable service for boots needing a surface cleanup, polish, and buff rather than full workshop treatment.
